The word Ikat comes from Molay (Indonesian province) "megikat" - which means "to bind".
Ikat fabrics are the oldest known patterned textile which is created by a special process of hand dying threads with natural dyes and then weaving by hand on a loom into gorgeous patterns.

Ikat textiles are one of the most eco friendly hand made upholstery fabric.  Natural dyes for silk threads are used in order to acheive colour.

Ikat fabrics are woven by hand on narrow looms in a labor intensive process. Uzbek ikats are generally 15.7" to 23.6" wide.

Dry cleaning recommended. Washable at 30°C separate.

Suitable for many home decor applications as well as clothing.
